Job Purpose:

Assist in the purchase and display of merchandise in a private club golf shop. Ensure merchandise is displayed on floor in manner that will optimize sales. Provide high quality customer service to the golfing membership and guests; perform assigned golf shop operational activities. Assist staff in the Pro Shop and perform other duties as required. The job is seasonal, March through December.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Coordinates and performs specialized projects as required.
• Coordinate assigned activities and functions relating to the golf shop. These activities may include: taking reservations, charging greens fees, golf cart rental
• Assist in purchasing merchandise.
• Stay current with fashion trends of the golf apparel industry to assist in the buying of merchandise.
• Monitor merchandise trends in the golf shop
• Supervise as to what merchandise should be displayed and when
• Conduct sales promotions through displays and shop decorations, and coordination of periodic on-site sales.
• Coordinate with various departments to order any necessary uniforms or special attire for employees and amenities for special events/groups.
• Coordinate special purchase orders
• Keep track of all special orders and keep the membership informed of items purchased.
• Strong knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office.

Experience:

Merchandising skills, general knowledge of clerical procedures, excellent written and oral

communication skills – required.

Valid Driver’s License – required.
