Hope Health Systems, Inc. is Hiring a Clinical Psychologist Near Gwynn Oak, MD

Position Summary: Provide psychological testing and clinical supervision.

Job Requirements:

1) : Must possess PhD or PsyD in Psychology and have clinical licensure that is registered with Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists. Must be able to supervise Psychology Associates.

2) : Potential staff members must pass a full state and federal criminal background check.

Duties and Responsibilities to include:

  • Identify psychological, emotional, or behavioral issues, and diagnose disorders, using information obtained from interviews, tests, records, and reference materials.
  • Counsel individuals and groups regarding problems such as stress, substance abuse, and family situations, in order to modify behavior and/or to improve personal, social, and vocational adjustment.
  • Select, administer, score, and interpret psychological tests in order to obtain information on individuals' intelligence, achievements, interests, and personalities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant research.
  • Plan, supervise, and conduct psychological research, and write papers describing research results.
  • Refer clients to other specialists, institutions, or support services as necessary.
  • Direct, coordinate, and evaluate activities of staff and interns engaged in patient assessment and treatment.
  • Provide psychological and/or administrative services and advice to private firms and community agencies regarding mental health programs or individual cases.
  • Adheres to program policies and standards to ensure compliance with existing laws and regulations
  • Reviews assessments to determine adherence to guidelines and regulations.
  • Referral of patients
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or Medical Director
  • Responsible for all aspects of the Clinical Services Program including program supervision, agency administration and agency/community relations
  • Maintain a small client caseload
  • Provide clinical supervision and training of new clinical staff to ensure instruction for basic skills, work habits and work processes are attained
  • Community outreach
  • Guide, direct, monitor and evaluate social work services provided to ensure consistency, high quality and compliance with all government mandates
  • Provide mental health evaluations/assessments, problem identification, crisis interventions, individual, group, and/or family therapy to assigned clients.
  • Develop treatment plans, monitor treatment progress and follow-up at disposition.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with COMAR regulations.
  • Complete documentation relevant to activities.
  • Complies with and ensures adherence to all documentation standards.
  • Complies with data collection entry, and reporting requirements
  • Provides clinical educational and/or liaison services to community centers as directed
  • Conduct initial intakes and assessments.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality according to the federal and state guidelines and requirements.
  • Uphold the Professional Code of Ethics.
  • Maintain a cooperative relationship with co-workers, medical staff and others.
  • Responsible for personal development to ensure current knowledge in the profession
  • Adhere to and supports facility policies, programs and activities.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and drug free environment
  • Willingness to work beyond what is required periodically and travel for continuing education hours
  • Other duties as assigned based on current COMAR regulations and as directed by the Program Director, Program Coordinator and/or Clinical Supervisor

Skills:

  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, and for career counseling and guidance.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Able to deal constructively with conflict

Working Conditions:

  • Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment
  • Regular exposure to patients with a variety of physical and psychiatric problems
  • May include some exposure to infection, injury, and biomedical and biochemical waste

Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing, bending, average range of hearing and vision.

Mental Demands: Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plan, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans. Must understand people from all works of life and be able to communicate effectively with them.

Reports To: Program Director and Medical Director

Contacts: Patients, families, general health care workers, professional and business staff, psychologists, psychiatric nurses, and psychiatric social workers

Pay: Up to $100,000.00 per year
