Youth Pastor

Purpose of the Job: The purpose of this role is to serve the vision of Hope City by leading and overseeing our Youth Ministry - school-aged students in both middle school and high school. The Youth Pastor is responsible to oversee discipleship by guiding youth in both their spiritual and personal growth in the church and the surrounding community.

Experience and Knowledge Required

• 3 or more years of youth ministry experience
• Effective pastoral leadership
• A love and calling toward ministry
• Consistent involvement with the pastoral needs of students
• Systematic team building and implementing leadership development
• Ability to effectively communicate vision
• Student ministry health assessment, analysis, and restructuring
• Leadership and administrative experience
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skill
• Exceptional time management, organizational, and prioritization skills with a particular emphasis on follow-through and attention to detail
• Ability to think and act independently with a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
• Must be a strong communicator with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to analyze and maintain provided youth budget

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Serves as the Central and West Houston Youth Pastor
• Train and oversee all central and campuses Youth leaders
• Responsible for identifying and developing Youth/Youth leaders to their fullest leadership potential
• Attend regular touchpoints and one-on-one meetings with Ministries Pastor
• Develop message content based off of the central sermon series to share at Youth Nights
• Ability to learn and use scheduling software
• Ability to learn and use expense reporting software
• Build teams that involve students and empower them as leaders
• Strategically promote HCY Breakouts and HCY Block Parties using marketing best practices
• Connect with schools in the community to enable youth to participate at youth services
• Relationally serve youth by providing pastoral care needs by creating personal growth plans for them to receive and/or experience healing, restoration, freedom, and the process of redemption
• Lead summer internship: Oversee summer schedule, manage provided budget, intervene when necessary for all pastoral care needs
• Oversee the planning and execution of youth camps, conferences and retreats
• Mediate all youth events, services, and ministries to become opportunities for leadership and growth within Hope City campuses
• Participate in church-wide events
• Execute additional duties as assigned
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, nights, and holidays

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the Youth ministry staff, contractors, and/or volunteers
