Hoover Lumber / Ace Hardware is Hiring an Assistant Manager Near Goodland, KS

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Assistant Manager to join our team. As the Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service and driving sales. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced retail environment and contribute to the success of our team.

Responsibilities for this position will consist of:

· Ordering products from various vendors

· Managing inventory on specific products

· Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner

· Provide product knowledge and recommendations to customers

· Process sales transactions accurately using the cash register

· Bidding out jobs for contractors

· Brainstorming new products to bring into the store

· Helping customers with material/building questions to make sure they have the right products for their job

· Programming chipped vehicle keys

· Assisting the back office with Purchase/Receiving Orders

· Willing to step in and help out other team members if needed

Requirements:

· Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred

· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

· Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment

· Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

· Basic math skills for cash handling purposes

· Proficiency in using POS systems and other retail software

· Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

Skills:

· Team management: Ability to work collaboratively with team members and contribute to a positive work environment.

· Recruiting: Knowledge of recruitment processes and ability to assist in hiring new team members.

· Store management: Understanding of store operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and customer service.

· Cash register: Proficiency in operating cash registers, processing transactions accurately, and handling cash.

· Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with customers, team members, and management.

· Sales: Ability to identify customer needs, provide product recommendations, and close sales.

· Cash handling: Experience in handling cash transactions accurately and securely.

· Administrative: Basic administrative skills such as record keeping, filing, and data entry.
