We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Manufacturing Planner/Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and estimating the manufacturing processes for aerospace and medical components in a fast paced CNC Machine shop.. You will work closely with engineering, production, and procurement teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective production of high-quality parts for both industries.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Production Planning:** Develop comprehensive manufacturing plans for aerospace and medical components, considering factors such as material availability, machining processes, tooling requirements, and production schedules.
2. **Cost Estimation:** Estimate manufacturing costs for aerospace and medical components, including labor, materials, equipment, outside processing, and overhead expenses, ensuring competitiveness while maintaining profitability.
3. **Resource Allocation:** Coordinate with production and procurement teams to allocate resources effectively, optimizing production efficiency and minimizing lead times for aerospace and medical projects.
4. **Process Optimization:** Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness, utilizing lean manufacturing principles and technology advancements.
5. **Risk Assessment:** Identify potential risks and challenges in the manufacturing process for aerospace and medical components and develop mitigation strategies to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with quality standards.
6. **Technical Expertise:** Utilize in-depth knowledge of CNC machining processes, various materials and processes, and industry standards to provide technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams working on projects.
7. **Documentation:** Maintain accurate records of manufacturing plans, cost estimates, and production data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum of five years of experience in aerospace and/or medical manufacturing planning and estimation, with a focus on CNC machining.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field preffered.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP) and medical regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA regulations) is a plus.
