General Summary: Report to Director of Safety with day-to-day interaction with Fleet Manager, Electric Power Division and Mechanical Division Safety leadership. The Driving Safety Technology Coordinator is responsible for ensuring driving safety behaviors and regulatory compliance requirements via monitoring of dash cam videos. The position focuses efforts on driver safety and DOT compliance to promote safe driver behavior. This role will also be responsible for follow-up with the employee on corrective actions. This position is responsible for the administrative operation of the programs and processes supporting Dash Cam safety systems. The Driving Safety Technology Coordinator works to ensure the highest operational effectiveness of all Dash Cam technologies and conducts all analytics and reporting of Driver Safety Key Performance Indicators across the Divisions of Hooper.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Participate in the development and design of the dash cam program process and implementation. Maintain policy and responsibility for ensuring compliance.
• Review fleet dash cam video for issues relating to safe driving techniques, focusing on identifying safety events for escalation.
• Coach Hooper employees/drivers in person and remotely on traffic safety and driver performance improvement, maintain DOT Driver Qualification (DQ) Files and coaching employees for driving safety performance improvement. Communicate with drivers, staff, and vendors, via text, web, phone, and in person.
• Alert Safety Leaders, Fleet Manager, and appropriate Operations Leaders if a driver has had a specific and significant safety event that requires escalation.
• At Fleet Manager's direction, facilitate and coordinate the identification and repair of defective dash cam devices.
• Collect, maintain, track and report data to management. Analyze program data to validate program quality, effectiveness, and sustainability as well as camera operational performance.
• Prepare periodic reporting on program effectiveness, process, and quality.
• Handle other assigned responsibilities, including but not limited to fleet and /safety related program management like MVR and DOT Compliance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• 1-3 or more years of experience with dash cam monitoring, compliance and/or safety experience within the construction, utility or transportation industries preferred.
• Experience with maintaining and administering DOT Driver Qualification files preferred.
• Clear understanding of OSHA and DOT.
• Proficient with Safety databases, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, Video Conferencing, etc.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to work well on a team.
• Customer-service oriented and able to think critically and listen to understand potential safety issues.
• An understanding of safety issues and how a safety team functions.
• Experience working in a construction field safety environment preferred.

Education:

• Occupational Safety & Health Degree preferred.
