HF Custom/Sam Moore Furniture, a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation (NASDAQ: HOFT), is currently recruiting a cushion stuffer to work in our plant in Bedford, VA. Hooker Furnishings Corporation, in its 100th year of business, is a designer, marketer, and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture), leather furniture, and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality, and contract markets.

The Position:
We are looking for a dependable candidate who enjoys working in a team environment to help in our line-up area making sure all kits, cushions, and frames are pulled and organized before they head to the upholstery department. This employee will also be cross trained to work in our cushion stuff area.
Main duties include, but are not limited to:
We are looking for a dependable candidate who enjoys working in a team environment to help in our line-up area making sure all kits, cushions, and frames are pulled and organized before they head to the upholstery department. This employee will also be cross trained to work in our cushion stuff area.
Main duties include, but are not limited to:
- Stuffing cushions by hand and using a machine.
- Quality checking cushions.
- Using an RF scanner to find and pull the correct materials that need to be pulled from inventory.
- Keeping stock together and following production schedule.
- Reading and comprehending simple instructions.
- Communicating with and supporting other departments as needed.
- Standing for majority of shift, frequently walking; reaching with hands and arms.
- Using carts to load and unload materials.
Candidates that will be a great fit will:
- Be able to lift up to 50lbs. as needed to move frames, cushions, and other upholstery materials.
- Have a positive attitude and like working in a fast-paced team environment.

Shift: Monday to Friday 6 am - 3:30 pm is our normal schedule. (Due to current production needs, employees are working 35-40 hours per week Monday-Thursday and off Fridays. This is temporary.
