As an Applications Engineer, you will apply your expertise and knowledge to technical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve research, techniques, procedures, and products and technologies. You will help work towards commercialization and deployment of Honeywell next generation energy storage solutions, working to progress our innovative flow battery technology.
Key Responsibilities:
•Research and Development.
•A liaison for R&D teams related to all battery subsystem components (modules and BMS), maintain details of battery and equipment technical characteristics.
•Perform lab testing of new battery equipment planned for use, such as protection tests, BMS communication testing, integration testing with PLC or embedded system control software, access to necessary monitoring data points, mechanical fit and ease of installation, and other evaluations.
•Architecture and modeling of power converter topologies to optimize performance with evolving energy storage performance and design.
•Build detailed power conversion and power system model with all grid connected systems to understand the interactions, performance of power conversion system, hardware limitations of power electronics converters for use in energy storage applications.
•Develop specification to design, have ability to test prototype, reliability validation and supervise high-volume manufacturing for UOP in partnership with fabricator.
•Collaborate with mechanical, PCB layout, PLC and engineering teams to successfully customize electrical design.
•Own module, stack and all related power conversion hardware design from concept through validation.
