Alta Mira Specialized Family Services is a non-profit organization that has been supporting individuals with developmental or intellectual delays or disabilities, and their families, since 1985. We provide services to all age groups. We support over 800 children annually in our Early Intervention Program and 1500 adults in our Family Support Services. POSITION SUMMARY
Supports and maintains the facilities owned and operated by Alta Mira Specialized Family
Services; including the facility at 1605 Carlisle NE, Albuquerque and our Respite Home on 9812 Woodland NE, Albuquerque; coordinates maintenance and other contracts as needed to assure needed upkeep of the property(s); completes general clean up of the grounds, maintenance and repair, and assists with organizational tasks in order to keep the facility in good order.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Position requires walking and standing for prolonged periods of time.
· Frequently lifts up to 50 pounds and carries small objects from waist to chest.
· Must be able use needed maintenance equipment and tools.
· Ability to distinguish telephone rings and to hear and speak clearly over the telephone.
· Regularly needs to bend, stoop and reach.
· Must be able to speak, read and write English.
· Vision and hearing sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
SKILLS
Accuracy, service oriented, repair skills, attention to detail. Excellent communication skills.
EXPERIENCE
3 years previous experience in general maintenance, handyman, construction, facility management or similar work.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform routine checks of HVAC equipment.
2. Complete routine work orders.
3. Repair caulking on windows as needed.
4. Clean roofs and drains quarterly.
5. Maintain landscaping inside courtyard and on the street and parking lot.
6. Paint and patch as needed.
7. Mowing courtyard grass.
8. Maintain maintenance supplies.
9. Change light bulbs as needed.
10. Put up or take down shelving as needed.
11. Respite Home maintenance and grounds upkeep.
12. Move office furniture and equipment as needed.
13. Establish routine maintenance schedules as needed.
14. Serve as contact for repair work as needed – plumbing/roof/HVAC, etc.
15. Assemble office furniture as needed.
16. Repair/replace ceiling tiles as needed.
17. Make Costco supplies run as needed.
18. Pick up supplies as needed.
19. Carlisle and Respite Home building maintenance and grounds.
20. Oversee and point of contact for all vendors.
21. Remove snow at the Carlisle and Woodland locations.
22. Maintain Alta Mira’s alarm system.
23. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
