Position Summary:
The Faculties Technician will provide a variety of repairs at the store level to include; roof repairs, wall repairs, tile repairs, ceiling repairs, fixing doors and locks, changing light bulbs, etc. This position will also work in the maintenance of repair of grills, fryers, shake machines, ice machines and any other restaurant equipment as needed. The facilities maintenance technician will report to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
Essential Functions:
- Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair
- Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
- Experience in general repair of tile, wall and stucco
- Diagnoses problems and failures to small and large restaurant equipment
- Fabricates equipment for the purpose of meeting specialty needs for stores
- Knowledge and embodiment of Blakes Lotaburger policies and procedures
- Replace compressors, condensers, valves and coils on upright units
- Performs routine and preventative maintenance on all restaurant equipment
- Follows all safety requirements of company SOPs
- Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving concerns at store level
- Knowledgeable on roof repairs and requirements
Qualifications/Requirements (Education/Training/Experience/Abilities):
- Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time; bend, stoop, climb and reach.
- Ability to work in a warm/hot and at times cold weather conditions
- Must be knowledgeable on the operation and safety of using power tools
- Work well with others in a team environment, often sharing tasks and/or collaborating on solutions.
- Ability to handle difficult and/or sensitive situations either with customers or other employees using tactful, appropriate and effective communication
- Ability to work 40 hours a week
- Must possess strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to read/write/speak in English.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
- Ability to read, understand, apply and adhere to Blakes Lotaburgers General Policies & Procedures.
- Appearance must be professional, neat, clean and well-groomed. Visible tattoos must be appropriate (neck tattoos are prohibited) and facial piercings may not be worn at work, but clear spacers or piercing retainers are allowed.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
