We are seeking a part-time custodian ABQ to join our team. As a Custodian, you will conduct daily and weekly routines for cleaning and maintaining the facility and surrounding grounds (bathrooms, lobby, staff kitchen, administrative offices, hallways, event spaces, and windows) to ensure our building is presentable to our staff and clients.

What you will be doing...

• Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, or vacuums floors.
• Gathers and empties trash.
• Scrub, sanitize, and supply restroom facilities.
• Dust furniture, walls, and equipment.
• Cleans windows, mirrors, glass doors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
• Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
• Follows procedures for using chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Shampoos or steam-cleans carpets and rugs (at least once per quarter)
• Clean refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of equipment for training and other special events.
• Manages inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Carry out extra cleaning duties as ordered or instructed by supervisors.
• Make sure assigned cleaning tasks are executed in a timely and orderly manner.

Requirements

Experience we need from you...

• Must be available tentatively 2 PM - 7 PM, Monday through Saturday. (25 - 30 hours a week)
• 1-2 years of experience working in a custodial capacity or a similar role.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
• Experience using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions.
• Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules
• Communication skills
• Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at heights.
• Previous custodial and grounds experience preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing maintenance tasks.
• Possess working knowledge of the methods, techniques, and materials used in custodial work.
• Ability to climb ladders and work from heights.
• Familiar with operating, caring for, and storing custodial equipment and supplies.
