Job Summary
Senior most executive in assigned market. Responsible for Commercial banking lending, deposit and treasury production, financial goal attainment, and the bank's reputation and position for assigned market. Coordinates the activities of the group or region to achieve sales and service goals in support of the Bank's overall strategic business plan.
Works closely with the Directors of each line of business to ensure consistency of customer service and bank image. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the commercial banking efforts for the assigned market.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Responsible for achieving financial goals and business objectives as outlined in the Annual Strategic Plan.
  • Responsible for Commercial Line of Business loan volume goals, deposit volume goals, and loan fee income goals for the market.
  • Routinely accompanies bankers on business development calls to generate new banking relationships, continually coaching them on business development and calling skills.
  • May serve in a player/coach role, actively producing while managing others on the team.
  • Collaborates with lines of business leaders to maintain goal and strategy alignment with business development and service level delivery.
  • Takes a high visibility, leadership role in the community served. Establishes and develops strong community relations in the market by becoming involved in civic, charitable and community affairs.
  • Ensures that bank audit guidelines, regulatory, and operational policies & procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Provide leadership of assigned team, lead efforts in recruitment, interviewing, and training employees, plan, assign, and direct departmental work.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental goals to ensure alignment with company goals and vision.
  • Coach and provide ongoing performance feedback to employees, set realistic and measurable performance goals and ensure employees have appropriate professional development opportunities. Effectively manage performance and assist employees to meet established company standards and expectations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
  • Adhere to all corporate policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations and laws.
  • Follow regulatory requirements including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC to assist in the identification, detection and determent of money laundering and other unlawful activities, as well as regulations pertaining to lending and consumer compliance to include fair lending laws.
  • Complete all mandatory annual compliance training.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education:
  • Four-year degree in business, finance, or related field.
Required:
  • Minimum of ten years-experience as a business or commercial banker with demonstrated record achieving goals.
  • Well-developed coaching and leadership skills, human resource, and communications skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of bank policies, procedures, and lending practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of all business lending, treasury management, and deposit products.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of credit analysis functions and related requirements and procedures.
  • Successful completion of Bank training program(s) for lending.
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to resolve customer concerns/issues in a positive way.
  • Effective team member and demonstrated collaboration skills.
  • Skilled professional networker.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Preferred:
  • MBA or a Graduate Banking School program completion.
