We are looking for an individual to fill an opening as a:
IT Field Technician & Help-Desk Support

Job Description of a typical day:
The businesses we support are located in South Florida between Kendall and Pompano Beach. Most of your work will be done remotely, but many will require onsite visits depending on circumstances. Approximately 60/40 remote/onsite but it can vary week to week. Interested candidates should have experience and capabilities as a Computer Technician, assisting customers troubleshooting things like printers, scanners, software issues, working with 3rd party tech support, and performing the following daily tasks:

Tasks On the Phone:
You will discuss issues with the caller and guide them with some questions to narrow the scope of the issue and create a descriptive ticket in our ticketing system.

You should have experience using remote access tools Like Team Viewer, LogMeIn, Splashtop, etc., to access the customer's computer and troubleshoot various issues with drivers, peripherals like scanners and printers and other wireless and USB peripherals, installing and removing updates, patches, resolving connection issues, and supporting various Windows business applications.

You should have the skills to engage others as needed to resolve the ticket.

Familiarity with dental and medical software and peripherals is a plus and will help you get up to speed quicker. We primarily work with software like Dentrix, Dexis, Softdent and Eaglesoft. We work with peripherals such as xray sensors, desk scanners, webcams, printers, etc.

Tasks On Site:
Issues that are unable to be resolved remotely will require an onsite visit. You should have reliable transportation and tools needed to visit the customer's site and resolve issues.

Some tasks may include swapping hardware, desktop and laptop computer repair and upgrades, assembly, disassembly. You must have knowledge and experience on imaging, cloning, testing internal components and replacing peripherals. On the network side you should be comfortable testing and swapping equipment like cables and switches, and/or updating routers and configurations, and related tasks.

  • Bilingual English / Spanish is strongly recommended.
  • Strong Customer Service skills are important.
  • Asking questions of callers to gain maximum information.
  • Taking time to research issues online and apply findings.
  • Be a self-starter and work unsupervised.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Very good communication abilities.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA, A , N ) will be an advantage but not required.
  • You should have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
  • You should have a laptop and computer tools.
  • If you have experience or knowledge in scripting with powershell it is a huge plus.
  • You must be legally documented to work in the US.

Working Hours:

  • Our normal working hours are M-F 8AM - 630PM. Some occasional Saturday hours.
  • On some nights and occasional weekends you'll be asked to perform some basic repair or maintenance tasks for our customer's systems. Tasks will include upgrading software, installing updates, server restarts, light troubleshooting.

Compensation:

  • This is a full time position. You will start as a 1099 independent contractor.
  • We are looking for a long-term relationship so you can grow with the company and develop some ownership interest over time or based on performance.
  • The position has a starting pay of $28K - $38K annually based on your knowledge & experience.
  • Salary will also include regular bonuses based on performance and sales.
  • Additional revenue can be earned by sales and referrals.
