Who you are

We’re looking for a Communications Coordinator to join our small, dynamic Communications team here at HomeLight. In this role, you’ll gain experience crafting story angles, pitching reporters and building relationships, and supporting a fast-moving communications function across social media, events, speaking, awards, and thought leadership. You’ll learn how to work cross-functionally with executives, writers, editors, and designers, and how to communicate effectively with key stakeholders in a fast-paced environment — all while joining an energetic, fun, and creative team. 

What you’ll do here

You’ll report to HomeLight’s Director of Strategic Communications and work with our Executive, Editorial, Product, and Growth teams to find new and innovative ways to grow HomeLight’s brand externally and drive awareness with top real estate agents across the country, including:

  • Learn how to proactively secure media coverage for our company, team, customers, and products in business, tech, trade, and local media outlets.
  • Support the development and testing of new strategic communications programs across the business. 
  • Supports the development of social media content and newsletters.
  • Collaborate on executive communications, thought leadership, and employment brand initiatives, including speaking and award strategies and applications, as well as preparing for, supporting, and staffing opportunities with company spokespeople. 
  • Track media coverage and help create biweekly reports for stakeholders.

You have

  • A college major or internship experience in communications, public relations, or marketing
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with a deep passion for writing
  • An excellent attention to detail, with superior time and project management skills.
  • A passion for proactively identifying new story ideas, pitch angles, and seeing them through to completion.
  • A self-starter attitude with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive within a fast-moving startup environment.
