Home of New Vision is a substance use disorder treatment and recovery services provider with locations in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti and Jackson, Michigan. We are seeking a Recovery Coach with 2 years continual lived experience, to be part of an exciting program providing Project ASSERT in the emergency room. This position is based in Ann Arbor. Peer coaching, motivational interviewing and the ablity to quickly make connection with people who are in the emergency room as a result of substance use or whose illness or injury is related to substance use. The recovery coach must be empathetic, have knowledge of community resources and be able to present professionally as part of a larger contingent of emergency room and hospital staff. Experience working in a health care setting of any kind is preferred.

Job responsibilities include:

• This position is located on site at the local emergency room as part of a partnership with Trinity Health (St. Joe's.)
• Meet with people who have or may have a substance use disorder and use recovery coaching and motivational interviewing to assist the person with addressing their SUD.
• Make referrals and perform follow up.
• Be part of the team at the emergency room.
• Provide or make arrangements for transportation to the Engagement Center or treatment.
• Meet with recent survivors of overdose and work with the ROOT team to assist in recovery efforts.
• Work with both internal and external stake holders to promote recovery and educate on multiple pathways, treatment and recovery options.
