Salary Range: $23.00 - $24.00 Hourly

Job Summary

Join us in making a difference at Home of Guiding Hands as we improve the quality of life for people with special needs. As an AP Clerk for the Financial Management Services (FMS) program, you will coordinate payments and keep financial records organized for clients who utilize HGH’s bill-paying services. A typical week might include entering transactions onto spreadsheets, making check payments, completing billing, and generating financial statements. Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Processes check payments and records all transactions onto relevant spreadsheets (client budget spreadsheet and billing spreadsheet).
  • Completes billing for client services on a weekly basis.
  • Generates monthly and full-year spending statements at identified times.
  • Maintains all related files to ensure ease of retrieval and compliance with auditor recommendations.
  • Reviews and responds to program correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Onboards new vendors and manages existing vendors for FMS clients.
  • Reviews client service authorizations and compares against existing records to ensure accuracy of services. Updates budget spreadsheets as needed.
  • Understands and applies local, state, and federal law and regulations governing FMS services.
  • Collaborates regularly with other internal departments to communicate about program needs, issues, and updates; and ensure that systems and processes are followed correctly.
  • Attends training to learn about best practices and form professional working relationships with industry professionals.

Qualifications


Knowledge, Skills, and Education

  • High School Diploma or GED. College level bookkeeping/accounting courses preferred.
  • Requires two years of previous work experience in Accounts Payable or other related bookkeeping experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and operate a 10-key by touch.
  • Knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire.
  • Must receive criminal record clearance from DOJ.
  • Must maintain current and adequate auto insurance.
  • Must be able to proficiently read, write, understand, and speak English and Spanish.
  • Proficient on office equipment, including computer (including internet access), printer, and copy machines.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple complex tasks, ensure accuracy of data, and establish priorities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a desire to continuously learn and provide creative solutions and take initiative when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully, both verbally and in writing.
  • Capacity to work independently, and exercise sound judgement.
  • Ability to maintain reliable and consistent attendance in the office.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

The work environment for this position involves working in an office setting, where you will have a dedicated workspace and access to office supplies. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, hear, walk, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach, and lift objects weighing up to ten pounds repeatedly during a shift.
