Home Chef is Hiring a Product Development Manager - Ready to Heat Operations Near Chicago, IL

Overview

The Product Development Manager for Ready to Heat Operations at Home Chef will be responsible for overseeing the transition of recipes from our culinary R&D chefs into scalable, high-quality products suitable for mass production in our facilities. This individual will work closely with our operation facility, culinary R&D team, and technology team to develop and optimize processes that ensure consistency, efficiency, and excellence in our ready-to-heat meal offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with culinary R&D chefs to understand recipe requirements and translate them into scalable production processes.
  • Develop and implement scalable production processes that maintain the integrity, quality, and taste of Home Chef's ready-to-heat meals.
  • Work closely with the operations team to identify equipment needs, workflow optimizations, and resource allocation to support scaled production.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration between the culinary R&D, operations, and technology teams to ensure seamless integration of new recipes into production.
  • Conduct regular quality control assessments to monitor product consistency and identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze production data and feedback to continuously refine and optimize scaling processes.
  • Collaborate with the product team to gather insights from customer feedback and market trends, integrating them into product development strategies.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in food production and product development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in product development, preferably in the food industry, with a focus on scaling operations.
  • Proven track record of successfully transitioning recipes from development to large-scale production while maintaining quality standards.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food manufacturing.
  • Experience with process optimization, data analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Passion for innovation and a commitment to delivering exceptional products to customers.
