AUTOMOTIVE SHOP HELPER No experience required To assist in the daily operations of the automotive shop. RESPONSIBILITIES: Plug and unplug storage containers from the power source within the terminal. Record and maintain a log of container temperatures within the terminal. Install and plugin forklift batteries. Fill forklift propane tanks. Assist in loading and unloading of parts delivery vehicles. Escorting Non-TWIC holders. Perform routine housekeeping duties in the shop and work area. Maintain a professional work atmosphere. Fuel equipment. May assist mechanics in vehicle maintenance/repairs. Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Self-motivated; capable of working independently Ability to routinely lift weights of 30 lbs. Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, sitting. lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, and climbing). Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business. Join local union after a 90-day probationary period. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Legally eligible to work in the United States. Must have a High School diploma or GED. Must be able to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC). Must possess a valid driver's license. WORKING CONDITIONS: 90% of daily time spent outside. Exposure to noise, heat, dust, and fumes as found in a repair facility. Exposure to extreme weather conditions is possible.
