SAFETY OFFICER, SOUTH JERSEY MARINE TERMINAL-Gloucester City, NJ -Full timeSummary:A growing Southern New Jersey marine terminal is seeking a highly motivated individual for Terminal Safety Officer.The SAFETY OFFICER works to prevent workplace accidents and promote health, safety awareness, and education to all employees on terminal. Candidates will provide required training to employees, develop training plans and schedules, and communicate with Division Managers to identify needs. Responsibilities include conducting safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance. This position will also evaluate performance, identify corrective actions, and implement follow up assessments. Candidates must:• Be self-motivated with advanced time management and organizational skills• Have sound knowledge of occupational safety, equipment, and procedures• Have strong correspondence and computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) with the ability to learn additional function specific software• Be able to administer and monitor a strict drug and alcohol program• Be able to maintain training records and coordinate new employee orientation training• Be able to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) Education and Qualification• Job experience in the safety field• Training management experience and strong interpersonal /communication skills• Familiarity with OSHA training requirements and workplace safety compliance• Ability to work effectively on multiple projects with minimum supervision Work Environment & Physical Demands:Candidate must have the ability to perform safety inspections aboard cargo ships, warehouses, waterfront, and throughout Terminal facilities in all weather conditions. This organization is an equal opportunity employer and offers competitive salary, excellent benefits, paid vacation and holidays.
