Our Boston office is seeking a full-time Estate Administration Specialist to support its Private Wealth Services practice. This is a fast-paced and dynamic office where you will work closely with clients, attorneys and other professionals. Responsibilities also will include all phases of trust and estate administration, as follows: advising fiduciaries and beneficiaries regarding the estate/trust administration process; marshalling, organizing and analyzing asset information; reading and interpreting Wills and trust instruments; coordinating valuation of assets and allocation of assets to sub-trusts; preparing inventories, asset transfer documents, deeds, probate pleadings, fiduciary reports/accountings, receipt and release agreements, disclaimers, affidavits; appearing in probate court on uncontested matters regarding wills and trusts; preparing estate and gift tax returns; reviewing and extracting relevant information from bank, brokerage and other statements; maintaining checkbook and banking records; computing and disbursing beneficiary distributions; recording deeds in local jurisdictions; preparing and filing beneficiary designation forms for life insurance and retirement accounts; and researching relevant state laws and/or federal estate, gift and GST tax laws. Candidates should have an excellent academic record with relevant coursework, along with strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will also have strong time management and organization skills, and be a self-starter who takes initiative to complete assignments. Familiarity with fiduciary income tax returns and/or Accounting/CPA background is a plus, and familiarity with local probate rules and procedures is essential.
