Overview:

As a Compliance Labeling Specialist in the cannabis sector, your primary responsibility is to ensure that all products meet the regulatory requirements for labeling set forth by local, state, and federal authorities. You'll be tasked with meticulously reviewing product labels to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to all applicable laws and regulations governing the cannabis industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Review and approve product labels to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including but not limited to:

- Ingredient lists

- Allergen declarations

- THC/CBD content

- Health and safety warnings

- Batch numbers and expiration dates

- Government-mandated symbols or icons

1. Stay up to date with changes in labeling regulations and communicate these updates to relevant stakeholders.
2. Print and apply labels when needed and assist in the scheduling of other team members for label printing and application.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including compliance officer, quality assurance, and product development, to ensure that labeling requirements are integrated into product design and manufacturing processes.
4. Conduct periodic audits of labeling practices and documentation to identify and address any discrepancies or non-compliance issues.
5. Provide guidance and training to employees involved in the labeling process to ensure understanding and compliance with regulatory requirements.
6. Liaise with compliance officer during inspections or audits related to labeling practices and documentation.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of labeling SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to streamline processes and maintain compliance.
8. Monitor labeling trends and best practices within the cannabis industry to continuously improve labeling strategies and processes.

Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or Associates Degree

- Experience in a related field (e.g., regulatory affairs, quality control, food science, etc.).

- Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing the cannabis industry, including labeling laws and regulations.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

- Familiarity with labeling software or systems is a plus.

- Experience in compliance or regulatory affairs within the cannabis industry is preferred.
