The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for administering and coordinating housekeeping functions in assigned sections, as well as assuming all Executive Housekeeper functions in his/her absence.

· High School diploma or equivalent required.

· Two to three years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.

· Flexible and long hours sometimes required.

· Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

· Ability to stand during entire shift.

Mental Requirements:

· Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.

· Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.

· Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.

· Must be able to show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.

· Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.

· Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co- workers and guests.

· Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, service-oriented manner.

· Maintain regular attendance in compliance with QPM Hotels standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.

· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.

· Comply at all times with QPM Hotels standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

· Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.

· Ensure employees are at all times attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.

· Reports any pest-control issues to the Housekeeping Manager.

· Assists Housekeeping Manager to maximize associate productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling to meet goals of the business as well as the expectations of the guests.

· Assists Housekeeping Manager to ensure that Housekeeping operates with the lowest possible cost structure while also delivering on the brand promise to the guest, proactively managing costs based on key performance indicators.

· Conducts inventory of guest supplies, cleaning supplies, printing and stationery for the rooms, linen, etc. and report to the Housekeeping Manager.

· Informs the Housekeeping Manager to requisite for supplies as required for Housekeeping.

· Conducts regular inspections of rooms, ensuring standards of cleanliness is maintained at all times.

· Ensures no defect or dirty rooms are sold to a guest.

· Ensures the proper handling and control of lost and found items.

· Conducts frequent and thorough inspections of guest rooms and room areas in general, together with the Front Office Manager and/or Housekeeping Manager.

· Oversee the closing of the floors at the end of the day, ensuring the Guest Room Attendant’s carts are cleaned and restocked.

· Ensure records of daily assignments are completed, signed off and returned to the front desk on time.

· Maintain key control.

· Handle items for “Lost and Found” according to the standards.

· Monitor cleanliness and orderliness of Guest Room Attendant’s carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways and landings.

· Oversee the daily assignment of duties ensuring Guest Room Attendants and Houseperson carry a work assignment.

· Initiate work orders for repairs and maintenance and forward to Maintenance. Follow through on each work order until completed.

· Assist with training of Housekeeping staff.

· Ensure completion of cleaning projects on a biannual basis.

· Attend meetings/training as required by management.

· Perform other duties as requested by management.

Acknowledgements:

The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift and alter assigned duties as business dictates. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be maintained at all times.
