Holden Forests & Gardens is Hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician Near Cleveland, OH
- Reports to the Director of Facilities
- Full-time, non-exempt position
- Schedule primarily Monday – Friday with occasional weekends and evenings

- Maintain building fire system and track pertinent documentation
- Perform weekly fire system and generator testing
- Monitor and maintain building systems
- Complete all preventative maintenance as assigned
- Maintain and track preventative maintenance documentation
- Assist in monitoring work being performed by outside contractors
- Maintain safe building operations of all systems
- Complete all assigned maintenance service requests
- Ensure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, city, state, and federal guidelines
- Maintain inventory control for cost effective operations
- Ensure compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner
- Maintain a professional courteous manner with all guests, vendors, contractors, and Holden Forests & Gardens’ staff
- Follow established company policies and those outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Be available for on-call maintenance throughout the day
- Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance as needed
- Complete special projects and other responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Demonstrate a passion for people and nature
- High school degree or equivalent, required
- At least 5 years’ experience in commercial building maintenance, required
- Construction background, required
- Painting and carpentry, preferred
- Experience in water testing, including hot water heating systems and water features, preferred
- Knowledge of motors and pumps, a plus
- Familiarity with various VAVs, pumps, valves, actuators and high pressure steam systems, a plus
- Experience monitoring fire systems, a plus
- Experience in the hospitality industry, a plus
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders
- Effective vision and hearing
- Hand and arm dexterity
- Walk and work on wet, uneven, slippery, or rocky terrain
- Kneel, bend, stoop, grab, and reach
- Regular lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds to 100 pounds
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors on a consistent basis where the ambient temperature spans 0-100 degrees Fahrenheit
