Hoefer Wysocki Architecture is Hiring an Accounts Payable Coordinator Near Leawood, KS

Hoefer Welker is looking for an Accounts Payable Coordinator to support continued company growth. This role is responsible for timely and accurate maintenance of financial data pertaining to the Firm and its projects, consultants, and vendors, through timely entry and processing of its accounts payable, employee expense report review and posting, tracking and filing use tax reports, as well as assisting users and maintaining the integrity of the Vantagepoint ERP system while supporting the staff, project management and finance teams as it relates to the aforementioned.

This position requires a highly motivated, detail-oriented, A/P professional with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A self-starter with a clear desire to make work fun and enjoyable within a collaborative, team-oriented environment with an aptitude to execute in a changing professional environment are highly regarded attributes.
Essential Functions:

  • Works with staff establishing successful business relationships while ensuring accurate and consistent processing of AP invoices and expense reports
  • Assists management with reviewing expense reports and invoices for accuracy of amount and terms
  • Provides general ledger and project/phase coding or verifies coding of invoices prior to entry into Deltek Vantagepoint
  • Provides semi-monthly A/P aging for review and processes semi-monthly batch payments by check and ACH
  • Assists the CFO, Director of Finance, and studio leaders with ad hoc A/P or similar financial reporting as needed
  • Responsible for database validation criteria in Vantagepoint
  • Files electronic and hard-copy correspondence and other records
  • Works with Project Accountants to maintain accuracy of project reporting in Vantagepoint database
  • Interacts with clients and consultants in a professional, courteous manner
  • Responds to accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Various other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or CFO
  • Responsible for compiling and preparing monthly sales tax and use tax returns

Job Requirements
Education/Experience:
2 (two) years relevant professional experience is preferred, but not required. An Associate Degree in Accounting from an accredited college is a plus. Prior experience in an architecture, engineering and/or construction environment is a plus. Must have experience with Accounts Payable, 10-key, general computer and spreadsheet knowledge. Familiarity of Deltek Vantagepoint is a plus.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or mode of transportation to travel to and from the office.
