What We Need:

We are looking for a Data Privacy & Risk Analyst to join our team in Muscatine, Iowa.

Working closely with Information Technology and the Law department, the Data Privacy and Risk Analyst is responsible for analyzing, implementing, and supporting data privacy programs and procedures that ensure the organization’s data privacy practices comply with applicable laws and regulations. In addition, the Data Privacy and Risk Analyst would be responsible for supporting the IT cybersecurity risk management program. This includes managing privacy risk, third-party risk management, and cybersecurity risk.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist in the implementation of privacy programs and the successful integration of privacy practices with current IT and business initiatives.
  • Monitor ongoing compliance with data privacy policies based on emerging laws and regulations. Conduct audits to ensure policies are being followed and that data is being stored and processed securely.
  • Understand and further document the organization’s data collection and sharing practices, including all data collection points, data sharing practices, and contractual protections and obligations applicable to such data.
  • Own and streamline the data privacy projects and implementations by driving communication and collaboration across IT, the Law department, and other critical stakeholders.
  • Continue to refine the process for submitting and responding to data subject requests in accordance with applicable data privacy laws by working with internal and external third-party processors and/or business partners.
  • Maintain the HNI Corporation vendor risk module to assist with the risk evaluation process for third party vendors.
  • Maintain the HNI Corporation cybersecurity risk module and assist in cybersecurity risk assessments. This includes maintaining risks identified from third party risk assessments, privacy risks, cybersecurity risk assessments, audit issues and self-identified risks.
  • Responsible for creating and responding to cybersecurity risk assessments and questionnaires.
  • Responsible for creating and responding to data privacy impact assessments and questionnaires.
  • Assist in documenting requirements for the development and/or enhancement of privacy program technology solutions and provide training related to the program.

What You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of related professional experience in compliance, information technology, or privacy
  • Proven success leading and implementing data policies and procedures
  • Experience and understanding of global privacy regulations, including CCPA, GDPR, and Information Security Frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST 800-171, NIST CSF, and PCI-DSS
  • Understanding of basic data privacy concepts and applicable regulations
  • Knowledge of technology frameworks and how privacy controls apply to them
  • IT audit experience a plus
