HMM America Shipping Agency, Inc. is Hiring a Logistics Inbound Traffic Coordinator Near Farmers, TX

GENERAL POSITION OVERVIEW

Monitor and expedite all Import containers from discharge to truck and/or rail in a timely manner without fail. Additionally, releasing all local containers. Assist with general problem resolution issues at terminals and rail ramps. Connect customers with appropriate internal parties if the scope of discussion requires specific expertise. Utilize key systems to address responses to issues/inquiries from customers. Analyze various data and filter specific information to effectively communicate customs issues. Work cohesively with other internal teams as need to service the efficient and effective delivery of cargo to HMM customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

  • Expediently move cargo from ship to terminal, terminal to rail and/or truck and local releases.
  • Open vessel two days prior to arrival
  • Send timely Job Orders to HASA Intermodal
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements have been met prior to movement.
  • Monitor idling containers to avoid storage cost at terminal and rail throughout container movement.
  • Communicate with customer on issues preventing efficient movement.
  • Send Pick-up numbers for rail moves.
  • Premium Service Coordination.
  • Respond to external/internal customer emails.
  • Guarantee storage when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • General understanding of the transportation shipping industry.
  • Work effectively under limited supervision and prioritize workload.
  • Have exceptional computer skills and knowledge of MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Able to multitask and handle information accurately and professionally.
  • Excellent phone/email etiquette.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred but not required.
  • Prior industry experience preferred but not required.
