Responsible for analyzing and managing risk management issues by identifying, monitoring, teaching, and implementing strategies to reduce risk throughout the organization. Primary duties include but are not limited to:
· Directs and oversees the Risk Management Program to improve outcomes.
· Provides Enterprise oversight and management of Point Click Care Risk Management Module.
· Analyzes risk management data and clinical documentation to identify areas of risk related to falls, injuries, pressure ulcers, etc., and implements effective strategies to reduce the risk of litigation.
· Ensures compliance with HMG Clinical Policies and Procedures.
· Reviews and completes risk summary of medical records which may be subject of litigation.
· Develops and leads on-site, hands on educational activities to enhance the clinical documentation of areas of compliance risk.
· Maintains database of risk management activities and reports monthly facilities progress towards documentation compliance in areas of high risk.
· Collaborates with facility management and facility staff to prevent clinical risk throughout the facility.
· Responsible for training Medical Records personnel and monitoring for compliance in facilities.
· Develops effective working relationships with clinical staff and administrative personnel to facilitate the delivery and documentation of patient care.
· Collaborates with Administration and Nursing Department in the development of policies and procedures to ensure effective management of resident medical records.
· Provides reports as directed to facilities, regional and corporate staff as indicated.
· Position requires overnight travel which may be frequent.
· Other duties as assigned.
