Hitachi Energy is Hiring a Data Center Program Manager Near Raleigh, NC

HitachiEnergy Transformers is a global leader in technology, and the largest supplier of transformers in the world. We are pioneering the digitalization of transformers, while working on the frontier of renewable energy and ultra-high voltage AC & DC applications.

The key to our success is largely dependent on the ability of our project management team, meeting and exceeding our customer expectations while helping to build a sustainable and profitable future. We're currently searching for an experienced program manager to join our ranks and continue our tradition of success.

Reporting to the Manager, Program Management Office, North America, you will lead multiple Data Center projects within the North America Power Transformers Group, comprising multiple interrelated projects in partnership with one of our key strategic customers. The projects are executed at various Hitachi Energy factories in our network.

Your Responsibilities

  • Establish, own, and update the program communication plan and act as the conduit for communications between Hitachi Energy factories and our valued customer.

  • Act as the key contact for our customer and an escalation point for issues. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicate with all those stakeholders.

  • Work closely with project cross-functional teams, Factory & Service project managers to plan and manage the overall scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and schedules.

  • Identify key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external vendors, allocate and coordinate tasks and activities, leveraging Hitachi Energy established best practices.

  • Monitor progress, provide feedback on program status and performance and lead issues resolution activities.

  • Identify, analyze, and manage program risks, ensuring that all opportunities are identified and pursued.

  • Continuously capture, analyze, and share lessons learned. Ensure that individual projects are formally closed out, per the applicable contract. Drive the formal acceptance of individual projects, contract close-out and corresponding acknowledgement by our customer.

  • Apply contract and claim management best practices in accordance with Hitachi Energy policies and the contractual agreements with our customer for this program.

  • Ensure the project follows and complies with Hitachi Energy's health, safety, and environmental policies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Electrical or Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in project management.

  • Current PMP Certification is required.

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sound knowledge of the Transformer offerings and the North American energy sector will be an asset.

  • Relevant experience in customer relations or customer service, with the ability build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.

  • Possess tact, empathy, diplomacy, and efficiency in communicating effectively.

  • Collaborative, dynamic and adapt rapidly to change.

  • Being results oriented and having influencing capabilities.

  • Ability to lead and manage concurrent priorities.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in SAP, MS Project, MS Excel, and other PM tools
