General Description/Purpose

This position offers a unique opportunity to leverage financial acumen to positively transform the broader operations of HistoryMaker Homes. The position requires experience in either the homebuilding industry or real estate asset management with a focus on financial and operational improvement. This role will be a blend of financial planning and analysis, identification, and implementation of strategic improvements to the organization, and coordination with the existing finance, accounting, and operating disciplines of the business to drive performance. The ideal candidate maintains the ability to digest, translate, and mechanize operational improvements by leveraging a core understanding of the financial operations of a homebuilder.

Location

1038 Texan Trail, Grapevine, TX 76051

On-site 3-4 days a week

Occasional travel to San Antonio and Houston

Requirements

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, and other duties may be assigned)

  • Develop and provide forward-looking financial planning and analysis reporting focused on execution of the 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year plans.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and planning cycle for the division, managing the creation, review, and administration of all financial plans and budgets.
  • Develop and monitor land capital budget to ensure efficient allocation of resources and alignment with overall financial objectives.
  • Monitor financial performance against benchmarks, set aligned performance metrics, and implement solutions to correct any underperformance, ensuring goal achievement.
  • Identify and execute strategic process and operational enhancements, collaborating closely with construction, purchasing, and sales.
  • Prepare, review, and/or provide monthly reporting across the broad portfolio of community operations.
  • Enhance existing KPI dashboards and executive reporting systems to provide comprehensive insights.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university
  • Five years’ experience in accounting, finance, or FP&A
  • Prior homebuilding experience preferred
  • Active CPA a plus
