HISTORIC HUDSON VALLEY is Hiring an Old Bethpage Daytime Site Supervisor Near Old Bethpage, NY

Historic Hudson Valley (HHV) is a Westchester-based cultural non-profit that welcomes visitors to five National Historic Landmarks, including Philipsburg Manor, Washington Irving’s Sunnyside, and Kykuit, the Rockefeller Estate. The organization offers an array of K-12 school programs, public tours, and seasonal festivals including the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze, now presented each fall in both Westchester and Long Island.
HHV seeks a candidate to support the existing production team in the setup, strike, and operation of the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze, Long Island. With the support of existing HHV staff, in Westchester and Long Island, the Daytime Site Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that the event site is prepared and ready to open and hand off to the evening’s Event Manager. The successful candidate will represent HHV in day-to-day interactions with a variety of stake holders including, but not limited to vendors, venue management, labor crews, pumpkin carving staff, event operations staff, the public and volunteers.
Job Overview
 Work as a member of the Events Team to ensure the successful set up, strike and operation of the Great Jack O Lantern Blaze, Long Island.
 Work collaboratively with outside vendors including fabricators, lighting contractors, labor crews, parking attendants, ticketing, and event staff.
 Be physically present at the job site every day, prepared to work outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions. The position will involve both overseeing the work of others and participating in that same work, including manual labor.
 Ensure that the event site and ‘back of house’ areas are maintained in excellent condition.
 Operate a variety of all-terrain vehicles, including ATVs, fork, lull and boom lifts as required.
 Monitor local weather, anticipate and communicate issues as they arise, and problem solve as needed (spread mulch, request labor in advance of a storm, etc.).
 Communicate clearly and regularly with the rest of the events staff, produce and distribute a daily status report/punch list. .
Requirements
 Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience supporting special events, touring theater, or similarly applicable industries.
 Current driver’s license; fork and boom lift certification required.
 Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and proven ability to motivate a wide variety of people.
 Computer literacy (MS 360) is required, knowledge of drafting software is desired.
 Ability to work outdoors, in all weather conditions, is necessary.
