Hispanic Technology Executive Council is Hiring a Compliance Bus Control Officer (VP/Hybrid) Near Irving, TX

The Compliance Business Control Officer will be responsible for leading the efforts to evaluate the activities, risks, controls, and monitorings of Core Operations processes. They will integrate subject matter and industry expertise within Core Operations to ensure compliance with the Control Framework. Contributes to standards around which others will operate. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. They will have responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of an area. May have responsibility for planning, budgeting and policy formulation within area of expertise.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects focused on enhancing our Risk and Control environment.
  • Responsible for ARA and QRA activities
  • Support risk assessment activities including CMDA and RIM. Test controls and provide recommendations.
  • Build new ARCMs as needed by partnering with others.
  • Responsible for interaction and thought leadership in working with both Internal Audit and External regulators
  • Participates in the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Build partnerships with supported Line of Businesses Operations leaders, process owners, client experience leaders, control leaders, and Training, so that efforts are aligned with strategy and department efforts, regular two-way communication exists, downstream impacts are considered and business solutions are optimized.
  • Contribute to scorecard metrics for team to report to Senior Leadership on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to other members of the team
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years experience in financial services with a demonstrated understanding of risk and control functions.
  • Balanced blend of analytical skills, problem solving, and reporting and communication skills
  • Ability to assess business transactions and products in terms of the associated regulatory risks
  • Advanced organizational skills including attention to detail, multi-tasking and following up
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Experience working collaboratively across various areas of the organization and presenting to senior management
  • Proficiency with Citi Risk and Controls system

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree

Understanding of control processes and risk mitigation/mindset preferred.
