The Academics Internal Communications and Events Coordinator, oversees event planning and internal communications within the Office of Academics, developing communication strategies, organizing events, and managing internal newsletter and other Acadmics communications. This role collaborates across departments to collect project updates and achievements and align with Pulse Survey insights and professional development opportunities.
1. Develop and implement internal communication strategies, ensuring clear and effective information dissemination within the Office of Academics.
2. Plan, organize, and manage all academic events, aligning them with the department’s strategic objectives.
3. Craft content for newsletters, emails, and announcements, maintaining the Office of Academics' engagement while ensuring consistency with the HISD style guide and communication norms.
4. Evaluate the impact of internal communications and events through feedback mechanisms, adjusting strategies to improve engagement and effectiveness.
5. Provide general administrative support to the department, including managing correspondence, responding to inquiries, and organizing documentation.
6. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Work Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing is restricted to monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of the same duties they are leading.

Acts as a trusted advisor and becomes involved in the customer's decision-making process including presenting alternatives and information and applying persuasion and negotiation skills in the resolution of problems.

Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
