Our client is a specialty chemical company manufacturing and marketing additives used in PVC, Polyurethane and Silicone applications around the world. They have an opening for a Maintenance and Engineering Manager supporting the chemical manufacturing plant located in Taft, LA.

The Maintenance and Engineering Manager works with plant leadership to conduct planning and leadership with the Maintenance and Engineering departments. The Maintenance and Engineering Manager will monitor monthly progress of quality key performance metrics and report to the management team. The candidate chosen for this position must have experience in chemical manufacturing support and have a strong sense of quality ownership.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Resource Management: Oversee the allocation of resources, including equipment, personnel, and budget, to meet production and maintenance needs.

• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the reliability and functionality of chemical processing equipment through preventive maintenance programs and vendor-based solutions.

• Process Optimization: Collaborate with production teams to identify process-oriented solutions and drive continuous improvement.

• Tech Transfer and Scaling: Facilitate the transfer of technology from R&D to production, ensuring smooth scaling and commercialization of chemical processes and products.

• Vendor Relationships: Manage relationships with equipment vendors and suppliers.

• Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.

• Team Leadership: Lead and develop maintenance technicians and engineers.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting, process optimization, and equipment maintenance.

• 5 years’ experience in facilities management or industrial maintenance.

• Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of electrical systems, including high voltage and logic controllers.

• Standard working hours with on-call responsibilities.

• Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders and managing inventory

• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

• Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and develop a team.
