The Role
The Director of Finance will be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, and operations management. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in finance and operations, who can mentor our bookkeeping staff and provide insightful analysis to drive profitability across various sales channels.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the company's financial health and growth.
- Manage and mentor a accounting team members, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Conduct financial analysis to assess channel, customer, and product profitability, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads to align financial goals with business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Manage relationships with financial partners, including banks, auditors, and investors.
- Implement and optimize financial systems and processes, with a strong focus on NetSuite and Shopify.
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- At least seven to ten years of professional experience in finance, with a minimum of six years in financial and operations management.
- Proven experience with NetSuite is required; Shopify experience is preferred.
- Solid accounting background, preferably in a consumer packaged goods environment.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to perform profitability analysis across various sales channels.
- Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities, with a track record of managing and developing staff.
- High integrity and trustworthiness, with a commitment to ethical financial practices.
- Cultural fit: Must be willing to learn about the company and work collaboratively with the team to enhance financial performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
