Job Title: CNC Set-Up Technician/Operator

Location: Hillside, IL

Compensation: $25-$35/hr 10% shift differential OT comprehensive benefits package included

Shift: 2nd and 3rd Shift

About Us:

We have 2 openings for Lead CNC Set-Up Technician/Operators (2nd and 3rd shift) at our remanufacturing facilities. These positions are crucial to our day-to-day production operations and are available due to increased customer demand. We are seeking hands-on individuals with advanced manufacturing technical skills and leadership abilities to join our team.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machinery work preparation.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate basic and specialized machine tools for precision machining operations.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and precision instruments.
  • Machine parts to specifications using lathes, milling machines, etc.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed units for defects and conformance to specifications.
  • Monitor feed and speed of machines during machining process.
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, and drawings to determine fabrication methods and sequences of operations.
  • Diagnose machine malfunctions and determine adjustments or repairs needed.
  • Check workpieces for proper lubrication and cooling.
  • Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
  • Design and create basic fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts as needed.

Qualifications:

Job Qualifications:

  • Deep hole drilling experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn quickly.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement through self-education and company-sponsored training.
  • 3 years of machining and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Basic blueprint reading skills.
  • Willingness to enroll in a Tech/Trade School for expanding upon Basic CNC Programming Skills.
  • Ability to recognize and report problems.
  • Capable of operating CNC machines while maintaining quality and safety requirements.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 30 pounds.
  • Willingness to work overtime and any shift as required.
  • Proficient communication skills in English.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and self-motivation.
