Hinton Transportation Investments is Hiring a Trailer Mechanic (2nd Shift) Near Center, MI

About Pace:
Pace Transportation Services is an industry leader in heavy duty truck and trailer parts sales, leasing, and service/repair. We are seeking out a 2nd shift Service Department Technician in Byron Center, MI to join our team!

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Evaluate and diagnose mechanical & electrical problems
  • Welding & fabrication of repairs
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear
  • Repair or replace damaged or worn heavy-duty parts
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and tools
  • Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance
  • Perform preventative maintenance

Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED – Required
  • 2-5 years’ experience with heavy duty equipment repair – Preferred
  • Completion of a vocational or other post-secondary training program – Preferred
  • Trailer body and/or Welding and Fabrication experience – Preferred
  • Having your own hand tools is a plus, but not all required (larger equipment/tools will be supplied by Company).
  • Ability to operate heavy duty equipment
  • Time management
  • Self-starter with a great attitude
