Hilton is Hiring an Accounting Specialist Coordinator Near Tucson, AZ

Scope of Position:
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for a variety of accounting functions at various Desert Hospitality Management (DHM) properties in the Tucson-Metro area. This position will manage day-to-day operations of the accounts receivable office, support the accounts payable function for a select group of hotels and assists the Financial Controller in assuring that the hotels are in compliance with the DHM Credit and Collection Polices & Procedures. This position reports directly to the Area Controller.
Primary Responsibilities:
 Ensure the Direct Bill / Credit process is in compliance with DHM Policies and Procedures
 Investigate credit risk and generate recommendations on approval for direct billing
 Ensure Advance Deposits are taken according to DHM Policies and Procedures
 Monitors AR work flow to ensure timely billing process
 Manage Accounts Receivable Aging and ensure proper collection efforts
 Communicate credit risk and other AR related issues to the General Manager / Controller
 Schedule & conduct monthly credit meetings
 Complete weekly Accounts Receivable Recap to note latest collection efforts as well as to provide the latest updates on past due accounts
 Review all hotel ledgers on a regular basis (i.e. Accounts Receivable, Guest Ledger, Advanced Deposits) and follow up with hotel team on any stale accounts
 Review Credit Card Credits without Debits/Charges reports on a regular basis to ensure any credit card refunds issued were originally charged by the hotel
 Assist General Manager and hotel team members preparing responses to Chargeback disputes
 Travel to individual hotels as needed to provide hands on support.
 Reconcile invoices in SharePoint
 Accurately enter invoices into the accounts payable platform to ensure they are posted in the correct financial period and paid timely
 Follow up with property General Managers to ensure invoices are available on time
 Regular review of property vendor information to ensure 1099 compliance
 Reconcile vendor statements
 Assist controller with daily review of income journals in ProfitSword PMS. This will include ensuring that revenue, receivables and daily stats are correctly accounted for
