Equilibrium Properties is hiring a full-time and/or part-time Accounting Specialist in our corporate office. Solid accounting, strong communication, excellent organizational skills, flexibility, and confidentiality are essential qualifications for this position. The position requires close coordination and collaboration in a small, dynamic office setting. The ideal candidate is a team player and a reliable self-starter committed to consistently meeting deadlines.

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for various sensitive and confidential accounting duties, including managing accounts payable and the payment process, processing semi-monthly payroll, and reconciling general ledger accounts related to accounts payable and payroll. The Specialist should be able to work independently and collaboratively while prioritizing a diverse workload.

Payroll

• Collect and review electronic timesheets and process accurate semi-monthly payroll
• Maintain payroll deductions, earnings, deferrals, and withholdings for all employees
• Maintain and track PTO accruals and other leave programs and check for accuracy
• Process and maintain records of child support and other garnishment deductions as required by legal documents
• Review COBRA reports and monitor payment collection
• Maintain payroll reporting records and manage year-end employee W-2 and employer ACA reporting

Accounts Payable

• Maintain vendor records and perform annual 1099 reporting
• Process vendor invoices, including coding to appropriate properties, projects, and general ledger accounts; make payments on a timely basis (including checks and ACH payments) and investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or misapplied cash transactions
• Manage corporate credit cards, including coding to appropriate properties, projects, and general ledger accounts and processing payments on a timely basis
• Review, post, and pay monthly employee expense reports
• Process general ledger journal entries related to payroll and benefits
• Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly and ensure all transactions are accurate and completed promptly.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
