Position Overview:

The Steward and general utility position are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area, stocking areas, and general kitchen are maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility.

Organizational Structure:

Department: Food and Beverage

Status: Part-Time/Seasonal, Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Reports To: Executive Chef & Sous Chefs

Supervision: NA

Pay Structure: Hourly, Paid Bi-weekly.

Essential Job Functions:

Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware, and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine.
Change dishwater in dish machine every hour.
Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand.
Properly remove any trash and/or garbage and dispose of it in designated receptacle.
Clean and roll/unroll kitchen floor mats.
Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
Sweep/mop floors.
Assemble/disassemble dish machine.
Maintain cleanliness of loading dock trash receptacle area.
Conduct general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry.
Notify manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Flexibility to work various schedules as business demands including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications:

General Education High School GED Required
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
