Position Summary:

Hillwood Investments Properties (HIP) is seeking to hire a Manager, Financial Strategy and Performance Analytics to join its dynamic and growing Operations team. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations, this individual will be responsible for tracking, analyzing, and reporting on business metrics on an ongoing basis. In addition to these responsibilities the Manager will play a pivotal role in helping develop new reporting tools by leveraging new technology and software’s to allow for data-driven decision making. The individual will strategically collaborate with HIP’s C-Suite and work across business functions, including but not limited to Finance, Accounting, Capital Markets, Regional investment teams, and Acquisitions/ Dispositions groups.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead periodic updating of cash planning tools to provide accurate forecasting of cash flows for investments, both for HIP and corporate reporting purposes.
  • Analyze project needs and expected performance outcomes, providing insightful recommendations to optimize financial strategies.
  • Develop and track operational metrics and key performance indicators to provide comprehensive insights into performance and trends for management.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment between departments to support strategic investment decisions driven by data.
  • Implement tracking mechanisms for intercompany loans between the Company and its underlying investments, ensuring transparency and compliance with financial protocols.
  • Generate detailed sales summaries for closed transactions, providing insights into transactional outcomes.
  • Coordinate with Regional investment teams, Capital Markets and Accounting associates to monitor budgeted spend (relative to approvals received) and report on investments requiring additional equity funding.
  • Lead coordination and preparation of business-level budgets on an annual basis.
  • Oversee IT resources to develop automated reports for business forecasting and performance analytics including data visualization.
  • Engage as an active participant in HIP technology initiatives, identify and select new technology and software that will allow HIP to more easily extract accurate and comprehensive data.
  • Champion innovation and efficiency improvements within the organization's technology infrastructure.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of Shared Services cost allocations to HIP, verifying accuracy and completeness to support financial transparency and compliance with agreed upon methodologies.
  • Develop, update, and maintain financial models for specific responsibility areas ensuring accuracy and relevance to support data-driven decision making.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests from business leaders for operational and performance related items.

  • Proficiency in financial modeling, variance analysis, and performance measurement. 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or a related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in financial principles and analytical skills.
  • MBA or advanced degree, a plus.
  • 5 years’ experience working in a Finance or Analytical capacity required.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial reporting and technology systems.
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex financial data, conduct insightful analysis, and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, QuickBase and/or One Stream, strongly preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization, dashboard development, and database management preferred.
  • Real Estate industry experience a plus.
