Hill International is Hiring an Electrical Engineer Near Dallas, TX

Hill International is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Dallas, Texas

  • Conducting daily inspections of site work and building construction work for conformance to contract requirements; documenting discrepancies, code violations,
    improper materials, or techniques in the application of materials, and substandard or poor-quality workmanship; noting and documenting daily conditions including
    environmental condition that may impact construction safety and EPA and/or MDNR environmental compliance and report findings to SRE.
  • Monitoring ongoing daily construction activities on the project to determine contractor's adherence to approved schedule, noting crew sizes, weather, equipment,
    and other areas of performance relevant to contractor's original plan to assist in identifying and resolving or mitigating project slippage and assist in coordinating
    project activities to accommodate project phasing or to identify progress delays and recommend appropriate corrective measures to the SRE toward mitigating delays and maintaining the progress schedule.
  • Reviewing contractor's submittals for technical compliance with contract requirements, ensuring installed work is consistent with approved submittals, and
    making recommendations to the SRE for approval of submittals and/or installed work
  • Assisting the RE staff in reviewing contractor requests for payment for accuracy and acceptability and making written recommendations to the SRE on acceptability of work reviewed in comparison to the payment request
  • Reviewing contract requirements and contractor requests for the purposes of providing recommendations to the RE staff on the need, scope, estimate, or technical
    issues related to changes;
  • Preparing draft statements of work and/or draft estimates for contract modifications to address unforeseen site conditions or as requested by the SRE for changes necessary to facilitate the intent of the drawings and specifications;
  • Reviewing contractor change proposals and cost breakdowns for proposed quantities of labor, equipment and materials for the purposes of providing written
    recommendations to the RE staff and/or the contracting officer in the form of a pre-negotiation objective;
  • Reviewing and analyzing contractor written claims and/or requests for adjustment of price and providing written recommendations to the SRE or Contracting Officer on the technical merits and pricing elements via written draft negotiation position/objective
  • Providing written feedback and recommendations to the RE staff on all information reviewed and work inspected.
  • Assisting the RE staff in maintaining accurate and complete job files including as built drawings and specifications.
  • Assisting in planning and coordinating disruptions to utility services as needed to keep construction progress on scheduled timeline and to minimize disruption to
    ongoing VA operations.
  • Utilizing computerized management system applications such as Kahua for documenting progress, processing requests for information, preparing draft contract
    modification documents for the senior resident engineer's use, etc.
  • Maintaining an inventory of materials, supplies and equipment and monitoring the quantity of materials used in the general administration and conduct of office
    operations.
  • Assisting the contracting officer by participating in negotiation meetings with contractors as a technical expert providing input on technical issues, costs, quantities,
    markups, fees, etc.
  • Participating in weekly meetings with the SRE and construction contractor to discuss performance, status of work, plans and/or recommendations for resolving issues
    related to the work, observations and/or results of testing, discrepancies observed and/or issues resolved and associated observations, schedule look ahead, planned
    work, planned testing, upcoming submittals and/or preparatory meetings associated with new elements of work, etc.
  • Submitting monthly reports indicating work completed, work in progress with estimated completion dates, work scheduled, and outstanding work.
  • Performing safety audits and inspections including reviewing and inspecting infection control measures.
  • Performing investigations and completing accident reports.
  • The CM-EE shall be a licensed professional with a degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution of higher learning. The individual shall have a minimum of six (6) years of experience in both design and construction.
  • The CM-EE shall be able to quickly understand and master the requirements of the local state and federal jurisdictions and the requirements of each considering the Requirements of the Project.
  • The CM-EE must possess Communication, Language, and Software Skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy.
  • Must possess PE.
