Job Description

HII Mission Technologies Division is seeking a Safety Director in support of a large Operations and Maintenance Contract within Mission Technologies.

Positions will be based at global Army training site in Orlando, FL. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety and risk management for the project, ensuring compliance with regulations and protocols, particularly during key events such as In-Progress Reviews, guaranteeing that safety standards are meticulously upheld. This role includes the pivotal task of incorporating systematic safety procedures within the Quality Management Plan, ensuring alignment with Government's requirements, and identification of safety-related performance factors. In the Transition-In period, the Safety Manager will address safety risks in planning, while also overseeing the safe inspection and management of inventory, including support equipment, spares, and TTE. For the Transition-Out phase, the manager ensures safety protocols are embedded in operations to prevent service disruptions and facilitate knowledge transfer regarding safe project management processes. Additionally, the Safety Manager is responsible for maintaining and updating safety-related information in the project's Library, encompassing technical studies, technical data updates, and ensuring that the Library reflects the most current safety practices and records.

Minimum Qualifications

15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.

Physical Requirements

May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data, observing performance of task teams.
