JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is located in the Zelienople, PA office. Reporting to the Director of Service Operations, this position is responsible for ensuring we are providing remote monitoring, diagnostics, and programing to aid in maximizing our customer’s productivity and uptime while also reducing their downtime on their equipment. The individiaul will work with a high degree of independence and must be disciplined self-starter with excellent communication and listening skills. This individual must be a solution partner and urgent about uptime.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties (other duties may be assigned)
  • Verifies connectivity and maintains OEM’s and Highway’s telematics systems on all Highway associated equipment.
  • Develops and authors detailed diagnostic information for a previously identified system/subsystem to be used by technicians and other support personnel to diagnose and repair technical product problems.
  • Establishes and maintains a process to identify, communicate, and resolve developing technical issues detected by OEM’s and Highway’s telematics devices onboard equipment.
  • Leads initiatives on specific products to provide expert development, delivery and resolution to product support and marketing activities.
  • Utilizes all resources to quickly and accurately summarize recommended action steps to address equipment abnormalities and provides them to the appropriate Service Department.
  • When necessary, the Telematics Specialist will work directly with technicians to assist them with diagnostic recommendations.

  • Works closely with OEM’s Service and Telematics Support personnel to share information and address equipment abnormalities.
  • Utilizes CDK, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook to catalog and report telematics monitoring events.
  • Participates in all required technical training to maintain up to date OEM information.

  • Contribute to Highway’s overall success by performing additional duties as assigned.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by director.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent 2-year college or technical school preferred but not required.
  • Heavy construction equipment knowledge preferred.
  • Must be organized and able to manage tight timelines and multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Must have the highest level of ethical standards and exercise exceptional judgment in all circumstances.
  • Must be creative, imaginative, positive, and self-motivated.
  • Excellent computer and mathematic skills (Microsoft Excel)
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Strong teamwork approach when working both externally and internally.
  • Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies.
  • Excellent computer and mathematic skills (Microsoft Office and CRM system).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must pass background screenings.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel less than 20% with some overnight trips.
