Position Overview:

As a Speech Language Pathologist at Beechtree Center, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by restoring and improving their communication and swallowing skills. Your dedication and expertise will be instrumental in helping individuals regain their independence.

Responsibilities:

• Empower Communication: Coordinate the acquisition of adaptive communication devices and provide comprehensive instruction to residents on their use.
• Tailored Therapy: Customize therapy activities based on residents' physical and mental capacity, intelligence level, and interests.
• Collaborative Care: Work closely with the rehabilitation team to determine the most suitable therapeutic regimens for each resident.
• Skill Enhancement: Instruct residents in the skills and techniques required for participation in activities, and assess their progress and behavior.
• Personalized Approach: Adapt therapy programs to meet the unique needs of individual residents.
• Engagement: Participate in resident care, staffing, and other meetings to ensure the best possible care.
• Training: Conduct training programs and share expertise with medical, nursing, and other personnel in speech therapy techniques.
• Supervision: Oversee supportive personnel in line with state and professional standards.
• Quality Care: Uphold our commitment to delivering the highest quality of service in a compassionate atmosphere that respects residents' needs and rights.

Requirements:

• Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Speech Language Pathologist curriculum certified by the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association.
• Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure as required in NY.
• Certification: Eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association.
• Safety First: COVID-19 vaccination is required.
