Payroll and Benefits Coordinator
Position Overview
Pay Range: $45-60K annually.
Probation Period: 90 days
Forecasted hours per week: 40 .
Daily schedule: 7:30-4:00
Job description
This role will encompass new and current employees’ benefits and well-being within the organization. Employees wellbeing is HighPoint’s focused effort that makes a significant impact on retention. Job Functions
Payroll:
· Handles weekly employee timecard entry and verification.
· Manage vacation time and scheduling.
· Run direct deposits and payroll checks.
· Employee payroll tax deductions
· Unemployment claims and issues
· Track and maintain employee payroll deductions, MISDU, Uniforms, tools, etc.
Insurance:
· Knowledge and understanding of current HighPoint Electric Insurance programs (Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Short Term Disability)
· Assist employees in understanding current insurance protocol.
· Handles employee insurance enrollment.
· Supports employee insurance record adding/ deleting changes.
· Workmen’s compensations claims, audits, and questions
· 401k/ Retirement options and work with hired administrative service for 401K.
· Have a full understanding of retirement of retirement package offered by HighPoint Electric
· Employee retirement options
General:
· Assist in parts of new hire orientations.
· Enroll new employee in Payroll and Benefits (insurance, vacation, retirement)
· Assist in separation/ termination forms and procedures.
· Gather and support information for employee reviews.
· Manage and organize employee’s personal information.
· Assist with distribution of uniforms/ safety glasses/ and safety equipment as needed.
· Add/delete card access as it relates to employees.
· Generating official internal documents as needed.
· Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits, and attendance records
· Employee advocate – benefits, concerns, issues, etc. Work for the employees, not just the company
Miscellaneous:
· Assist with answering phones.
· Assist with employee occasions – birthdays, new baby, funerals, etc.
· Other tasks/ projects as assigned, and time allows.
