HIGHLANDS RANCH COMMUNITY ASSOC is Hiring a Facility Manager Northridge Near Highlands, CO

Performs a variety of administrative and operational duties associated with the operation and the general management of all aspects of the HRCA recreation facilities.

Supervision Received: Works under the direct supervision of the Assistant Operations Director.

Supervision Exercised: Exercises supervision over Assistant Facility Supervisors, Aquatic Coordinator, and other facility staff.

Examples of Duties: The following examples are intended to be illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.

  • Supervises and exercises administrative control for the efficient operation of a specific recreation facility which includes customer service, interior and exterior facility maintenance, 24/7 pool operations including pump-room maintenance and repair, landscaping, janitorial issues, programming areas, registration, and membership offices. Coordinates and directs resources to accomplish the goals of the HRCA. Determines priorities and allocates resources to meet the objectives of the HRCA regarding operation of all aspects of the recreation facilities.
  • Interacts daily with all facilities staff and member users to determine facility needs regarding facility based programs and equipment, maintenance, janitorial, space usage, and customer service.
  • Supervises and trains Assistant Facility Supervisory staff to meet the goals of the HRCA and to build an efficient facility team. Works to streamline efficiencies among work group. Implements training methods to support operational needs.
  • Recruits, interviews and makes recommendations for the selection of employees.
  • Supervises work projects and assignments directly and through subordinate supervisors.
  • Develops and maintains recreation access management system and training modules for all departments. Works directly with system developers to keep operations functioning efficiently. Continually evaluates recreation management systems capabilities staying abreast of current and new trends in the industry.
  • Monitors Assistant Facility Supervisors and directs the development of staff training modules, evaluations, discipline, opening, closing, cash management procedures, minute by minute aquatic safety, operations, and quality customer service.
  • Prepares and supervises the preparation of the Facility Operations Budget as assigned. Manages and controls the annual budget for the facility.
  • Approves accounts payable and manages purchasing as well as all expenses incurred by the facility. Responsible for maintaining overall net revenue detailed in the budget.
  • Responsible for the content and quality of the Facilities sections of the HRCA Recreational Activities Guide.
  • Works with peer supervisors to maintain and nurture a team environment across departmental lines.
  • Determines and continually evaluates appropriate member services, including vending, registration and membership, cardiovascular and weight equipment, gymnasium and track areas, and other services to enhance member satisfaction. Evaluates and responds to customer suggestions for improved or additional services.
  • Diplomatically responds to, works with, and helps to resolve member problems, complaints, and suggestions.
  • Oversees use and scheduling of facilities for optimum use of programming, rental space, and revenue generation.
  • Meets and interacts with other community organizations to provide for shared use of facilities, joint programming, reciprocal allocation of resources, and generally to provide new and additional programming and interaction with the community. Deals extensively with the public.
  • Ensures compliance with the policies, rules and regulations, and governing documents of the HRCA associated with the recreation function, and governing regulating agencies, i.e. Colorado Department of Health, Tri-County Health, OSHA, etc.
  • Responsible for the efficient management of the janitorial workforce and the day to day cleanliness of the facility and property.
  • Reviews maintenance work orders prepared by Assistant Facility Supervisors. Troubleshoots facility needs and coordinates those needs with all appropriate supervisors.
  • Responsible for the overall safety and security of all staff, members, guests and the facility.
  • Provides management reports concerning facility usage and trends etc. as required and necessary.
  • Helps supervise the set-up, clean-up and operation of community events as required.
  • Participates in the mission of the organization of Enhancing property values and creating quality of life through recreation, community events, and leadership.
  • Performs related duties as assigned and required.

Physical and Environmental Standards: Most work is performed indoors in a busy office where noise and interruptions prevail. Work will also be performed outdoors in different types of conditions including, but not limited to, heat, wind, cold, rain and snow. Must be able to frequently sit, walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, push or pull. Must be able to stand/ walk/ rove for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per shift. Manual dexterity is needed to type, write, use a calculator, and answer the phone. The ability to talk and hear via the telephone and through face to face communication is needed. Vision requirements include near and far acuity. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/ remove a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds with assistance.

Requires a thorough knowledge of recreation, facilities, operations, budgeting, financial management, leadership, detail orientation, conflict resolution, customer service, and general management. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and subordinates. Ability to understand and interpret rules and regulations which govern the HRCA. Ability to set and maintain high working standards. Ability to collect, analyze and present data in report form. Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) with staff and members. Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a current Ellis & Associates Lifeguard License. Certified Leisure Professional designation desired. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist and lift. Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 pounds, unassisted, on a daily basis. Must have the ability to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, late evenings and weekends, to accommodate the hours of the facility. Must pass a Drug and Background check.

Education: Bachelor degree in related field from an accredited four-year college or university desired.

Experience: Seven (7) years of related management experience in a supervisory role.

An equivalent combination of education and experience.
