About Us

Highland Electric Fleets is a comprehensive turnkey solutions provider that delivers electric school buses (EVSB) to school districts and third-party managed fleet providers (3PMs).

We offer a model involving financing, infrastructure, vehicle deployment, and maintenance in an easily digestible, economic format that enables EVSB acquisition at traditional diesel cost of ownership.

We aim to mitigate risk for our customers, increase EVSB market penetration, and deliver positive impacts across a broad spectrum of stakeholders: students, communities, school districts, fleet operators, manufacturers, and utilities.

We are looking for a highly experienced Marketing Director with a passion for sustainability and a deep commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Deep experience in product marketing, organizational management, and the demonstrated ability to formulate and implement the company’s overarching marketing strategy in harmony with business goals is a must.

You must possess the ability to execute on Integrated Marketing Fundamentals, such as brand strategy, market positioning, campaign management, narrative development, product marketing, digital marketing, community management, events, go-to-market strategy and the ability to develop a measurement framework to ensure our brand efforts are growing both more impactful and more efficient over time. 

Our approach to marketing is very education oriented, which often puts our brand in the role of conversation facilitator rather than center stage star—yet the work we do is essential to every story. You will need to find creative ways to celebrate electrification milestones from the first turn of the key to after vehicles have logged thousands of miles. 

You will partner with our internal teams to shape and tell meaningful stories that promote our mission, drive engagement and inspire fresh thinking. Your marketing acumen, project management and diplomacy with cross-functional partners will be essential in earning trust with our partners and executing successful campaigns.

You excel at collaborating cross-functionally and with external partners (including Sales, Public Affairs, Operations, CX, and Business Development) to drive marketing initiatives for new & existing customers and create brand moments, all the while navigating the dynamic landscape of a brand repositioning amidst rapid growth and an ever changing cultural and political landscape. 

Most important, you will play a critical role in shaping the success and growth of the Highland brand by ensuring efficient and effective program administration and leading the integrated marketing activities of the marketing team.

Your success will rely on your experience leading a great team, your prioritization of customer experience in all marketing initiatives, and your passion to build a brand that will inspire millions of people to take action on how their kids get to school each day.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing campaigns and playbooks and ensure all integrated marketing campaigns are effectively brought to life 
  • Inspire and lead a growing marketing team, foster a culture of service, collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement 
  • Oversee day-to-day marketing operations, provide guidance on project execution and ensure alignment with overall business goals
  • Drive the development of compelling product marketing content that resonates meaningfully with a diverse group stakeholders
  • Develop close partnerships with our customers; advise, produce, and implement marketing campaigns 
  • Build and organize marketing processes to manage our campaigns and initiatives to keep everyone aligned and informed
  • Support the VP, Marketing in maintaining a high level of marketing management and oversight 
Qualifications
  • Minimum 12 years integrated marketing experience
  • Strong people management skills and the proven ability to lead a team 
  • Broad knowledge and passion for environmental and sustainability issues ideally related to transportation products and services 
  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills
  • Highly organized with strong project management and prioritization skills
  • Results-oriented mindset and comfort in partnering to develop measurement frameworks to drive operational excellence
  • Ability to work East Coast hours with key stakeholders
