School Psychologist – 1.0 FTE Qualifications:
State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) as a school psychologist.
Master's, Educational Specialist or Doctorate degree with a major in School Psychology.
Strong background in testing and measurement.
Experience in counseling and crisis intervention.
Strong communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with parents and members of our community.
Experience working with special education students.
General Responsibilities:
Assist in completing the Special Education domain and eligibility process.
Serve as Local Education Agency Representative at IEP meetings.
Conduct diagnostic psychological testing and write social-developmental histories.
Write IEP goals and provide counseling minutes for students.
Assist teams in developing behavior intervention plans for General Education and Special Education students.
Write initial 504 Plans and provide case management.
Provide intervention assistance to students, families and staff.
Provide consultation services to the Student Services team, teachers, and administration.
Create intervention plans with Division Head – Student Success, Safety & Wellness.
Provide classroom- based interventions/presentations in collaboration with teachers.
Implement evidenced based group counseling curriculum.
Assist in coordinating post-secondary transition support for students.
Serve as building Homeless Liaison along with APSS.
Lead an intervention team of counselors, case managers, and administrators.
Follow directives of Special Education Division Head and Associate Principal for Student Services.
