This English Language (EL) teacher position provides direct academic services to a designated group of EL and recently-exited EL students as part of a broader team providing student supports. Develops and implements academic plans and interventions which help students achieve their educational goals. This EL teacher works with parents/guardians and students to promote success. Supports monitoring and coordination of EL services at the building level. SPECIFIC DUTIES:
State of Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) with any endorsement.
EL Endorsement required.
Bilingual Spanish Endorsement required.
Works with administration, RTI/MTSS team, guidance and counseling services, student service specialists, teachers, and staff to identify students for and the related needs of students.
Works as part of an MTSS/RTI planning team to develop academic and behavioral interventions for EL and recently exited EL students that are culturally relevant and responsive to student needs.
Provides direct services to students (in small and large group settings, individually, in pull-out and push-in formats), which help students increase academic growth and achievement.
Coordinates and tracks success of interventions being provided to student.
Provides progress monitoring of students.
Communicates directly with parents and families of students.
Assist the principal and other school personnel in maintaining communication between the school and home (for example, via newsletters and personal notes)
Run and provide reports, as requested, in support of data accuracy for the EL Program.
Supports EL documentation, compliance, and coordination of services.
Collaborates with building leadership and staff to ensure equity is infused in practice and remains at the forefront of efforts to disrupt inequities.
