    Until Filled JOB TITLE: Community Education Pickle Ball Group Instructor
    HOURS: Part-Time, 4-8 hours per week. Must be available evenings.
    LOCATION: Forest View Educational Center
    SALARY: $25/hour
    ** Classes Start September, 2023
    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Instruct group pickleball lessons.
    • Effectively instruct and demonstrate the basics of the game, including grip, strokes, strategy and court awareness.
    • Friendly, energetic and able to provide positive feedback to participants of varying ages and abilities.
    • Conduct class in a safe manner, and communicate effectively with the Community Education staff and class participants.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • In-depth knowledge of pickleball rules, techniques and strategies.
    • Experience playing Pickleball.
    • Ability to provide instruction and coaching to beginning and intermediate level players.
    • Knowledge of computers sufficient to access online course rosters and communicate via email.
    • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
    • Capable of lifting a minimum of 25 pounds.
    • Able to stand for long periods of time, a minimum of 3 hours continuously.
    • Able to perform frequent bending, stooping, and reaching activities.
    • Must be able to set up and take down pickleball nets/equipment as needed.
    • Willingness to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certificates, if required.
    • Must submit to and clear background check through District 214.
    • Must complete new employee GCN training by Oct. 1 and update annually as required by deadlines.
    POSITION EXPECTATIONS:
    • Must demonstrate appropriate interpersonal skills in dealing with staff, students, outside officials/agencies, and the general public.
    • Must project a positive image of the district as well as exhibit a positive employee attitude.
    • Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor.
