HOURS: Part-Time, 4-8 hours per week. Must be available evenings.
LOCATION: Forest View Educational Center
SALARY: $25/hour
** Classes Start September, 2023

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Instruct group pickleball lessons.
Effectively instruct and demonstrate the basics of the game, including grip, strokes, strategy and court awareness.
Friendly, energetic and able to provide positive feedback to participants of varying ages and abilities.
Conduct class in a safe manner, and communicate effectively with the Community Education staff and class participants.

QUALIFICATIONS:

In-depth knowledge of pickleball rules, techniques and strategies.
Experience playing Pickleball.
Ability to provide instruction and coaching to beginning and intermediate level players.
Knowledge of computers sufficient to access online course rosters and communicate via email.
High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Capable of lifting a minimum of 25 pounds.
Able to stand for long periods of time, a minimum of 3 hours continuously.
Able to perform frequent bending, stooping, and reaching activities.
Must be able to set up and take down pickleball nets/equipment as needed.
Willingness to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certificates, if required.
Must submit to and clear background check through District 214.
Must complete new employee GCN training by Oct. 1 and update annually as required by deadlines.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS:

Must demonstrate appropriate interpersonal skills in dealing with staff, students, outside officials/agencies, and the general public.
Must project a positive image of the district as well as exhibit a positive employee attitude.
Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor.
